Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse, #13)

There are secrets in the town of Bon Temps, ones that threaten those closest to Sookie—and could destroy her heart...

Sookie Stackhouse finds it easy to turn down the request of former barmaid Arlene when she wants her job back at Merlotte’s. After all, Arlene tried to have Sookie killed. But her relationship with Eric Northman is not so clearcut. He and his vampires are keeping their distance…and a cold silence. And when Sookie learns the reason why, she is devastated.

Then a shocking murder rocks Bon Temps, and Sookie is arrested for the crime.

But the evidence against Sookie is weak, and she makes bail. Investigating the killing, she’ll learn that what passes for truth in Bon Temps is only a convenient lie. What passes for justice is more spilled blood. And what passes for love is never enough...

My review

This book was sort of a let down for me. Not because I was expecting Sookie to end up with Eric because Charlaine Harris made damn sure we didn't get that assumption from deadlocked. I just was expecting more out of this series, I thought maybe the author would of put more into the last and final book. This series started off so good and as time went on you can tell she was losing interest in her characters. The book wasn't bad but it was no different from the rest.

Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

My Review
I am a big of The Sookie Stackhouse Vampire Series, By: Charlaine Harris, but I think I found something that compete or just as good. I instantly fell in love with this book more then I thought I would. I sort of melted into my kindle and I finished this book in no time. It's a very creative, lots of action, steamy sex scene, and very likeable characters. I found myself laughing hysterically. Bones and Cat both have a razor- sharp sense of humor. This book is definitely not a let down.

My Review

Last Chance Beauty Queen is the third installment of Hope Ramsey, Last Chance Series.Caroline Rhodes(Rocky), formerly beauty queen of Last Chance. She lives in Washington working for a senator when she meets Hugh. Hugh bought some property to build a factory in Last Chance, but the only problem is that Caroline father sits in the area he needs. The land is accessible to the railroad. Caroline father have a 18-hole golf course that is run by angels. People considers Caroline father eccentric because of his ability to speak with angels.

Caroline loves her job, but she is caught in a dilemma. She wants to help Hugh relocate and save the golf course. She informs him that her father will not sell his land, but Hugh stills insist he wants to go look at the meet her father and the council. She notifies him that there annual Watermelon Festival is going on, but Hugh says it the perfect opportunity, because all the local town people will be there. Caroline fears returning home, not only due to her job, but the last Watermelon Festival incident still hunts her.

When I first receive this book I thought it would only be just a another contemporary read, but I was wrong. It have so much more going on in this lovely story. The plot is written beautifully, and the author took her time. I love how all her characters have that small town homey feel, coming from a small town myself. This book is feel with comfort its a light read when your at the park or just need a break. Its also have some light comedy and some heartfelt moments.

Releases: February 1, 2012

My Review
Nix is half demon/half human working at a goverment agency in the supernatural division. One day while working she see her former boyfriend Tobias. She remember how he ran off and left her five years ago and desparately tries to control his temper. He also tried to avoid seeing her. But eventually tempatation got the best of both of them.

I received a advance copy of this book that I enjoyed. It was plotted nicely and different from other vampire novels. I adored both the science fiction and supernatural aspect. I also love how the author describe her characters, which makes you want to know more about them. Not to mention, there is a hot pulsing love scence. But,= it wasnt just about romance, although I admit I wish I could have more romance. I felt it was put on the back burner but I do love the action the book is packing. Also the is the first book to the author "Warriors of the Rift series." So I am waiting to see how the character develop from this point.

My Review
Sobek is walking along the beach of Nile River and sees one of his abandon temples. He heard a woman singing and followed the voice which led to Merys. Merys was startle by Bek at first, but later found herself wanting to know Sobek. Merys told him about her life as her family servant and how her family wouldnt give her any dowry.
Every chance Sobek had he would still away to see Merys. However, seeing a mortal a woman is against the law, he still takes his chances to be with Merys. Merys is also risks being caught, by her family. He tries to stay away from her but only find hisself longing to be with her.
I found this book to be a nice late night read. This book is nicely written and I like the storyline that the Veronica Scott have plotted.I think she did very well describing her characters. Though, I wish the story could have been a lit longer, because it wouldve been better. If you looking for a quick read with contains adult content, mythology, Egyptian culture, and paranormal romance its a nice story.

My Review
This book have two strong heroes. Wilda and Einar. Wilda was a young girl who enjoyed running along the beach and feeling the sand in her toes.Until one day a gang of heathens came a raid her town.

Einar wanted to go on his first raid and show a lot of bravery but instead he ended up witnessing his brother killed his other brother. Then Wilda witness her mother being killed and she called her name and told her to run. Einar told Wilda to run but she ended up helping him from being killed by his evil brother Bausi. Bausi then put a evil rune curse upon his brother. If he told anyone Einar and his younger siblings Sidger

Staying strong in her Christian religion is all Wilda agreed to go. While working she sees Einar and they both become bewildered. He couldn't believe it was the girl who rescued him from a deadly fate. Wilda couldn't believe herself that it was Einar the young heathen boy.

This story is very beautifully written. This is so much then a typical romance story where the hero always show up to save the lady and whisk onto her feet into a happily ever after. It have a very deepen and heartfelt storyline. Especially how much they both are willing to sacrifice and endure just to keep each other safe

My Review

I was giving this book to review and I always enjoy reading about The Donovan Sisters. Accidental Duchess is a great story filled with love, a bit of scandal, and lots of emotions. Max first see Oliva at the ball. While everyone had there eyes set on Jessica (her younger sister) Max could only stare at Oliva. Oliva have malaria that she caught when she was younger. She fears no one will love her because of the disease. Until she meets Max and touches Olivia heart in away she didnt think was possible. I enjoy how the author lets the events unfold. How Max brings out a passion in Olvia is romantic.

Why I Became a Book Reviewer

I am a mother and a student currently attending Louisiana State University.Growing up I was always the girl with her head in the books. Also I was a only child and had very few close friends. My mother was a Army and she would alway bring home different storybooks from each country she visit. I found books as a way of escaping or traveling into a different places in time. In school I was inroduce Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Edgar Allen Poe, and Emily Dickson, which helped introduce me to different writing styles.

Now as a writer I enjoying reading books that are filled with suspense and intrigue. After every book, I love to blog and give a honest review. I also enjoy reading other's reviews and seeing how other interpet the book.
